Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) announced its next-generation quantum optimization machine, the Dirac-3S, which can handle up to 9,980 variables. That is a tenfold increase over its predecessor. QCi expects to ship the first system to a customer in November 2026.
The modular system is designed for future expansion and practical commercial use in financial services, logistics and AI.
In a technical review published by QCi, the Dirac-3S outperformed other commercial solvers in tests on synthetic problems with known solutions. It found the optimal solution in every tested instance.
CTO Yong Meng Sua said the Dirac-3S moves the platform from demonstrating what is possible to delivering a system for practical commercial applications.
