Quantum-Si Incorporated (QSI) announced interim development results for its next-generation Proteus™ protein sequencing platform, demonstrating a significant step-change in performance compared to its commercially available Platinum® Pro instrument. The data, presented at the World HUPO 2026 Congress, shows Proteus outperforms the current system across all key metrics even while still in development.

Key Details

  • Performance Metrics: In a control study, Proteus delivered a median of 30x more alignments from a single chamber with a 4.8x lower false discovery rate (1.36% vs. 6.58%) compared to the Platinum Pro.
  • Increased Coverage: In a 24-protein panel, Proteus detected all 24 proteins and 4.3x more amino acids per run than the Platinum Pro. It also identified 1.6 to 2.0 times more peptides in protein mixture tests.
  • Development & Timeline: The data was generated using a developmental kit that detects 18 amino acids. The company remains on track for a full commercial launch of the Proteus platform in Q2 2027.
