D-Wave Quantum Inc. inaugurated its first annealing quantum computer in Italy on October 16, 2026, at Villa Saporiti in Como. The installation is part of a €10 million agreement with Swiss Quantum Technology SA.
Swiss Quantum Technology SA has secured half of the system’s capacity. The allocation is for five years. The Advantage2 system has more than 4,400 qubits and will give European researchers, universities and businesses access to annealing quantum computing technology.
The installation is expected to accelerate research and commercial applications in logistics, AI and materials science across Europe. The deployment marks a step in D-Wave’s strategy to expand its global footprint and drive adoption of its quantum computing solutions for complex problems.
