Planet Labs PBC said its Pelican-12 satellite has arrived at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. It is scheduled to launch aboard SpaceX’s Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission. Pelican-12 is the fifth Pelican satellite Planet is launching in 2026 and an updated second-generation (Gen 2) model.

The satellite has upgraded payload and communication systems and is designed to capture 30-cm-class imagery. It also carries an NVIDIA Jetson platform for on-orbit edge computing and a steerable antenna for intersatellite communications, which Planet says are aimed at reducing data delivery times for customers.

Separately, Planet’s stock also moved higher amid news of its partnership with Google’s Project Suncatcher, which is preparing for its first orbital test.
