Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) awarded Weatherford a three-year integrated drilling services contract for 274 wells. The agreement covers oil production and water injection wells. These wells are located in the Marmul and Greater Saqar fields in southern Oman. The contract extends an existing partnership between PDO and Weatherford.
The deal supports PDO's strategy to boost production and enhance operational efficiency. The integrated service model is expected to lower costs by approximately 20% compared to conventional pricing. It also aims to improve cost control and contractor accountability. Both companies highlighted that the agreement will support in-country value by developing local Omani talent and capabilities.
