Palo Alto Networks is in discussions to acquire Israeli AI security startup Clutch Security for approximately $500 million, according to reports citing people familiar with the matter. Neither company has confirmed a potential acquisition.

Founded in late 2023, Clutch Security specializes in securing and managing non-human identities, including API keys, tokens and service accounts. These identities are critical to automated systems, particularly as AI agents grow rapidly. The potential deal would support Palo Alto Networks’ strategy of expanding its AI security capabilities through acquisitions to address an evolving threat landscape.
