Blue Owl Capital portfolio company Stack Infrastructure is reportedly seeking an A$8.6 billion (approximately US$6 billion) five-year loan to finance a major data center project in Melbourne, Australia. The company has appointed lead arrangers and underwriters for the facility, which could become one of the largest data center financings in Asia. The project would expand Stack’s digital infrastructure to meet rising demand driven by artificial intelligence.
The fundraising comes as investors scrutinize the debt backing the AI infrastructure boom. The proposed loan would be substantially larger than the A$1.3 billion green financing facility Stack secured in July 2025 for another phase of its Melbourne campus. The new loan is expected to fund further development, but Stack has not disclosed which campus it would target.
