NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, a major Japanese ICT solutions provider, migrated its critical internal database platform to Oracle's Autonomous AI Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The platform supports 12 essential internal systems, including network management and security. It connects to approximately 400 servers.
The migration from an on-premises environment to OCI involved tens of terabytes of data. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS reported a 43% reduction in database license costs. The company also streamlined operations through the database's automation features. It implemented a disaster recovery architecture across two Oracle Cloud regions in Japan to enhance business continuity.
