Federal energy regulators denied Oklo Inc.'s request. The company sought to reinstate a 750-megawatt power project in Virginia. This project aimed for inclusion in PJM Interconnection's current study cycle. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) concluded Oklo failed to demonstrate a rule violation by the grid operator. PJM removed the project in August.

FERC stated Oklo had not resolved identified application flaws. The project is a mixed-technology facility. It plans to combine 150 MW of advanced nuclear with fuel cells and natural gas generation.

The decision means the project will miss the current study queue. Oklo previously stated this outcome could delay the project by 14 to 18 months. Oklo can resolve the application issues. The company can then submit the project for PJM's next study cycle.
