NatWest Group has announced leadership changes in its Commercial & Institutional (C&I) division, effective January 1, 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
Isabelle Girolami, currently Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking, will become CEO of the C&I division and join the Group Executive Committee. NatWest said the appointment is intended to position the business for its next phase of growth.
Jonathan Peberdy, currently CEO of NatWest Markets, will become Head of CIB Ring-Fenced Bank. Walid Assaf, who joins from Crédit Agricole CIB, will succeed Peberdy as CEO of Markets.
Robert Begbie, the current CEO of C&I, will become Executive Chair, Scotland, and Senior Advisor, C&I. He will lead the Royal Bank of Scotland’s activities in Scotland ahead of its 300th anniversary.
