Nvidia will provide $250 million in accelerated computing resources over five years to support AI safety and security research in the United Kingdom. CEO Jensen Huang announced the commitment, which will provide the UK’s AI research community with $50 million in computing access each year.

The resources will support work on safeguards for increasingly powerful, autonomous AI systems known as agents. Beneficiaries include labs led by the University of Oxford and University College London, as well as Imperial College London research into areas such as robotics safety.

The initiative supports the UK’s goal of becoming a global hub for AI governance and safety evaluation.
