Novo Nordisk reported positive results from a post-hoc analysis of a Phase 3 trial of CagriSema, its next-generation obesity drug. The analysis included 2,309 women and was presented at The Menopause Society’s annual meeting.
After 68 weeks of treatment, women taking CagriSema lost nearly 25% of their body weight on average. Women taking placebo lost 3% on average.
CagriSema combines semaglutide, the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic, with cagrilintide. The findings met or exceeded the efficacy of leading approved obesity treatments. In its key clinical trial, Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy produced mean weight loss of just under 15%.
The Motley Fool reported that Novo Nordisk’s stock ticked higher on the news.
