Northrop Grumman has officially opened its 845,000-square-foot East Gate 3 manufacturing facility in Layton, Utah. This expansion increases the company’s total footprint in the state to over two million square feet.

The new campus will support low-rate initial production and flight testing for the B-21 Raider stealth bomber. This facility aims to accelerate delivery schedules to meet the U.S. Air Force requirement for at least 100 aircraft.

The expansion is expected to support 1,500 engineering and manufacturing jobs. These positions are projected to be filled by 2032.

Increased federal funding is driving the production of these sixth-generation strategic bombers. Additionally, the company is collaborating with Camgian to advance AI for multi-domain air and missile defense.
