Northrop Grumman successfully launched its Mission Robotic Vehicle (MRV) and three Mission Extension Pods (MEPs). Developed in collaboration with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the mission advances on-orbit servicing and space logistics.
The MRV performs satellite inspection, relocation, repair, and debris removal. The accompanying MEPs attach to aging satellites to provide propulsion and extend operational lifespans.
This technology establishes a new market for maintaining and upgrading satellites directly in orbit. These capabilities offer significant value to both commercial and government satellite operators.
