Northrop Grumman launched its Mission Robotic Vehicle (MRV) and three Mission Extension Pods on July 22, 2026. The MRV performs satellite inspection, relocation, repair, and debris removal.

The vehicle integrates a robotics payload developed in partnership with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The system supports on-orbit refueling to enable sustained missions.

These autonomous robots utilize artificial intelligence to enhance mission assurance and operational capabilities. The project follows significant investment to expand customer options for resilient and sustainable space assets.
