Nouveau Monde Graphite (NMG) announced its focus on securing the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Bécancour Battery Material Plant on September 14, 2026. The facility is designed to produce 13,000 tons of battery-grade material per year.
The company is accelerating due diligence processes and deepening its collaboration with Panasonic Energy. This initiative supports NMG’s goal of establishing a fully integrated graphite value chain within North America.
NMG will showcase the Bécancour project at the Canada Investment Summit in Toronto on September 14 and 15. The plant will process natural graphite from the Matawinie Mine to fulfill an existing offtake agreement with Panasonic.
