Cloudflare (NET) shares rose more than 6% on Friday after the company announced that the entire team behind the Deno JavaScript runtime is joining Cloudflare. The move aims to make it easier for developers to build and deploy distributed applications on Workers, Cloudflare’s serverless platform.
Cloudflare plans to combine its technology with Deno’s to improve the developer experience. Active development of the open-source Deno runtime will be phased out over the next year. Deno Deploy will shut down within six months, and Cloudflare will offer customers support to migrate to Workers.
