The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) launched an investigation into Micron Technology following a complaint by Netlist, Inc. Netlist filed the legal challenge on August 11, 2026. The complaint alleges that Micron memory products infringe on four patents related to DDR5 RDIMMs and MRDIMMs.
Netlist is seeking an exclusion order to ban the importation of the disputed products into the United States. The ITC will proceed with the investigation on an expedited basis.
This probe follows a period of significant financial growth for Micron. High demand for AI-related memory products recently pushed the company's share price above $1,000.
