Micron Technology (Nasdaq: MU) demonstrated the world's first 512GB DDR5 module for next-generation servers. These ultra-dense modules support AI, in-memory databases, and data-intensive cloud workloads.
The hardware reaches speeds of up to 9,200 MT/s. It utilizes advanced vertical interconnect packaging to stack DRAM dies.
AMD and Intel are currently validating the module for upcoming server platforms. Separately, employees at Micron's Taiwan facilities are threatening a strike over profit-sharing demands.
