Microsoft said LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky will leave the company at the end of 2026. The departure comes amid a broader leadership shake-up as Microsoft shifts its operations and management structure to focus more heavily on generative AI.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced Roslansky’s departure in a memo. Roslansky has spent nearly 18 years at LinkedIn and Microsoft.
Roslansky became LinkedIn CEO in 2020, when the platform had 700 million members. Membership has since grown to 1.3 billion. In recent years, he also took on broader responsibilities across Microsoft’s Office and Copilot initiatives.
His departure follows other high-profile executive changes as Microsoft deepens its AI commitment. The strategy has helped drive the company’s recent strong stock performance. After the announcement on October 1, MSFT shares traded slightly higher.
