OpenAI began rolling out its GPT-6 model globally on October 7, 2026, replacing the GPT-5.6 generation. Paid subscribers on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans will use GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go users will use GPT-6 Luna. The rollout began with paid tiers and is scheduled to expand to free users the following day.
The release introduces Intelligent UI, which lets the models respond with interactive visual elements such as charts, buttons, and forms, rather than only plain text. OpenAI says the feature enables more dynamic and intuitive explanations. The models also include enhanced safety features informed by lessons from previous versions.
