Microsoft has signed a 20-year power supply agreement with utility NiSource to support its data center campus in northwest Indiana. The deal begins in 2028 and will provide approximately 1,100 MW of new generation capacity.

Microsoft will fully fund the generation and transmission infrastructure needed to serve its load, including 600 MW of battery storage. The agreement is designed to support Microsoft’s growing data center needs without passing incremental costs on to NiSource’s existing residential and business customers.
