Microsoft announced three new AI models for voice transcription and other applications on October 1, 2026. One of them, MAI-Transcribe-2-Streaming, is designed to provide real-time transcription across 60 languages with very low latency. The models aim to strengthen Microsoft’s AI-driven cloud services and improve its competitiveness in speed and language coverage.
The announcement adds to Microsoft’s momentum in AI, a key driver of its stock performance. Wells Fargo added Microsoft to its Tactical Ideas list for the fourth quarter and raised its price target to $725 from $700. The firm cited AI advances and improved transparency in Azure cloud revenue as catalysts for future growth.
