Marvell Technology announced its second-generation Structera X 3406 and 3506 CXL 3.2 memory expanders, designed for AI inference workloads. The controllers feature six DDR4/DDR5 memory channels, a 50% increase over the previous generation, and support PCIe Gen 6 connectivity.
Marvell says the expanders can deliver 40-50% faster time-to-first-token for large language models, addressing rising memory demands for AI workloads.
The company is demonstrating the products at the OCP Global Summit this week. Samsung, SK hynix, AMD and Arm have noted ecosystem collaboration and memory validation work with the platform.
The Structera X 3406 and 3506 are expected to sample in the first quarter of 2027.
