MP Materials expects to begin its first commercial deliveries of U.S.-made rare earth magnets to General Motors in the fourth quarter of 2026. The magnets will be produced at the company’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The shipments fulfill a supply agreement signed in 2021.

The magnets are critical components in electric motors for GM’s Ultium-platform vehicles. The deliveries mark a step toward a domestic supply chain, from mining at MP Materials’ Mountain Pass facility in California to magnet production in Texas, and could reduce reliance on China for these materials.
