Momentus Inc. completed a Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) demonstration. The company used its Vigoride-7 Orbital Service Vehicle to track a NASA satellite. The mission showcased an AI-enabled suite of low-cost commercial sensors. These sensors included optical, infrared, and LiDAR technology.

The demonstration was part of a $1.86 million contract with SpaceWERX. SpaceWERX is the innovation arm of the U.S. Space Force. During the mission, the Vigoride-7 deployed NASA's R5-S10 CubeSat. The CubeSat performed nearby maneuvers. Momentus collected data and validated its autonomous sensing and navigation systems.

This successful test confirms the viability of the company's technology for future in-space services. These services include satellite servicing, logistics, and debris removal. Momentus launched the Vigoride-7 in March 2026. The company plans its next mission, Vigoride-8, for 2027. Vigoride-8 will carry two NASA payloads.
