Meta Platforms launched Muse, a personal AI assistant that autonomously manages tasks like sending emails, booking travel, and making purchases. The tool is initially available to users in the U.S. through a dedicated app and WhatsApp.
Muse integrates with third-party applications including calendars, email, and payment services. The agent operates in the background to complete long-term goals and requires user approval for sensitive actions.
Each Muse agent runs in an isolated cloud-based virtual machine to address security concerns. Meta will utilize a freemium model featuring a free basic version and paid subscription tiers for heavy usage.
Meta shares rose over 5% following the announcement.
