Tensions between Meta’s board and CEO Mark Zuckerberg have reportedly escalated over the company’s costly AI strategy. Meta recorded negative free cash flow of $2.12 billion in the third quarter—the first time it has been in the red since 2012.
The dispute also involves Zuckerberg’s demand for a substantial, stock-heavy pay increase. According to documents viewed by The Wall Street Journal, some board members have threatened to resign if his compensation demands are met.
The reported conflict comes as Meta’s stock has fallen more than 13 percent in the past month.
