Joel Kaplan, Meta's chief global affairs officer and a top adviser to Mark Zuckerberg for more than 15 years, is set to leave the company in 2027. He played a pivotal role in building and leading Meta's policy operations in Washington, D.C., and globally.

Kaplan's departure marks a significant leadership change as Meta faces intense regulatory challenges worldwide. He previously served as deputy White House chief of staff under President George W. Bush. At Meta, he helped shape the company's responses to numerous controversies and built its U.S. policy team from the ground up.
