MercadoLibre issued $1 billion in senior unsecured notes maturing in 2036. More than 100 institutional investors participated in the offering. The company will use the proceeds for general corporate purposes and to strengthen its liquidity position.

CFO Martín de los Santos noted the 10-year notes priced at the same spread as a previous 7-year issuance. This pricing reflects market confidence in the company’s business model and its consolidation as an investment-grade issuer.

Fitch and S&P assigned the notes a BBB- rating. Moody’s rated the issuance Baa3.
