Medtronic is completing the separation of its diabetes business into publicly traded MiniMed. The final step is an exchange offer launched in September that expires this week and will divest Medtronic’s remaining majority stake. The split allows Medtronic to focus on its cardiovascular, neuroscience, and surgical technology portfolios.

Medtronic reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $9.76 billion. Revenue increased 13.7% and beat estimates. Following the results, the company raised its full-year financial guidance.

The restructuring is expected to improve Medtronic’s profit margins. Investor sentiment has been positive, with one report citing 19 analyst buy ratings.
