LVMH shares fell 2.2% on Monday after several of its stores were looted during violent demonstrations over the weekend. The decline came amid widespread civil unrest in France and persistent concerns about slowing growth. French blue-chip stocks also sold off, sending the CAC 40 down 1.4%.
LVMH's stock has fallen more than 21% over the past three months. It is nearing a six-year low.
Investors were already cautious after the company's recent third-quarter results. Its key fashion and leather goods division posted a 5% decline. The results also highlighted slowing demand from China.
