Moleculin Biotech announced a 1-for-20 reverse stock split of its common stock, effective at 12:01 a.m. ET on October 20, 2026. The stock is expected to begin trading on a split-adjusted basis that day.

Shares fell more than 16% in pre-market trading following the announcement.

The split will reduce outstanding common shares from approximately 20.9 million to about 1.05 million. The number of authorized shares will remain at 500 million.

Companies commonly use reverse splits to raise their per-share trading price, including to regain compliance with an exchange’s minimum bid price requirement. Moleculin received a Nasdaq non-compliance notice in September 2026 after its stock traded below the $1.00 minimum.
