Bank of Maharashtra is preparing for possible service disruptions during a three-day nationwide strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) from September 28 to 30, 2026. The unions are seeking, among other demands, a five-day banking week.

To help limit the impact on customers, the government has announced that public sector banks, including Bank of Maharashtra, will operate on Sunday, September 27.

The bank has advised customers to complete urgent transactions before the strike and use internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs. The strike is likely to affect many public sector and older private bank branches across the country, while new-generation private banks are expected to operate normally.
