Mastercard, Visa, and Ant International launched a collaboration. They will develop a "Know-Your-Agent" (KYA) interoperability framework. This framework aims to streamline AI agent identification and onboarding across payment networks, digital wallets, and marketplaces. The initiative supports "agentic commerce," where AI agents complete purchases for users.
The framework builds on existing protocols. These include Mastercard Verifiable Intent and Visa's Trusted Agent Protocol. Its goal is to establish common principles for AI agent verification and risk management. This could reduce integration complexity and costs for businesses. The collaboration will occur through BuildFin.ai. The Monetary Authority of Singapore convened this industry platform to advance responsible AI in financial services.
