Lockheed Martin awarded L3Harris Technologies an undefinitized contract valued at more than $6 billion. The seven-year contract formalizes a framework agreement established earlier this year to quadruple production capacity for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptor’s propulsion systems.

L3Harris will build a new facility to increase production of THAAD solid rocket motors. It will also expand capacity for the system’s Liquid Divert and Attitude Control Systems.

The expansion is intended to help meet demand from the U.S. Department of War for critical defense technologies.
