Eli Lilly and Company partnered with Canadian biotech QurCan Therapeutics to develop genetic medicines for the central and peripheral nervous systems.

The collaboration leverages QurCan’s proprietary TERP™ platform to transport genetic therapies across the blood-brain barrier.

Eli Lilly will provide an undisclosed upfront payment and a strategic investment in the Toronto-based firm.

QurCan is eligible for up to $237 million in milestone payments per program plus tiered royalties on future sales.

QurCan will lead initial research, while Lilly manages clinical development and commercialization.
