Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks said the company is pursuing larger acquisitions to support future growth. In an interview with Bloomberg, he said future deals could be bigger than recent ones and target new areas, including infectious disease, women’s health and mental health.
Lilly plans to use cash flow from its successful GLP-1 drugs for diabetes and weight loss to fund the strategy. After a record year for dealmaking and numerous acquisitions, Ricks said the company prefers earlier-stage assets that are not yet mature, aiming to strengthen its long-term drug pipeline.
