Eli Lilly entered a research collaboration and licensing agreement with Boston-based Amplitude Therapeutics. The partnership aims to develop vaccines for infectious diseases using a next-generation RNA platform.
The collaboration will focus on Amplitude's trans-amplifying RNA (taRNA) technology. This technology aims to create more potent vaccines. It seeks effectiveness at lower doses. The platform may also offer improved manufacturability compared to other RNA methods.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Initially, the companies will target undisclosed infectious diseases with high unmet needs.
Amplitude will lead early preclinical research and taRNA optimization. Lilly will handle all further preclinical and clinical development, manufacturing, and commercialization. Lilly also holds an option to add up to two more infectious disease targets to the collaboration.
