Eli Lilly and Company officially broke ground on a $6.5 billion manufacturing campus at Generation Park in Houston, Texas. The project represents the largest biotech manufacturing investment in Texas history.

The facility will produce active pharmaceutical ingredients for Lilly’s drug pipeline. Production will focus on Foundayo, the company's new oral GLP-1 weight-loss medication. This expansion aims to secure the supply chain for high-demand diabetes and obesity treatments.

The project is expected to create 4,000 construction jobs. It will eventually provide 600 permanent high-skilled positions. The plant is scheduled to become operational by 2030.
