Gbolabo Odunaiya, Lucid’s senior director of advanced manufacturing engineering, has announced his departure after nearly 11 years with the company. He joined when it was still known as Atieva and became its first manufacturing engineering hire.

Odunaiya played a key role in launching the Lucid Air and Gravity SUV and establishing the company’s manufacturing plants in Arizona and Saudi Arabia.

His departure comes weeks after Lucid delayed production of its more affordable midsize model, the Cosmos, from late 2026 to the second half of 2027. The exit follows other cost-cutting measures as Lucid works to scale production and achieve profitability.
