The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) launched a formal investigation into potential insider trading of Curro Holdings shares. This probe follows a R7.2 billion buyout offer from the Jannie Mouton Foundation, which is linked to PSG Financial Services co-founder Jannie Mouton.

Moneyweb identified three sets of suspicious trades in the six months preceding the announcement. These transactions generated individual profits of approximately R31 million, R21 million, and R74 million.

The formal investigation grants the FSCA expanded powers to compel testimony and demand documents. This escalation follows an initial assessment phase triggered by a statutory body report late last year.
