The Coca-Cola Company is reportedly seeking to sell Costa Coffee, revisiting a potential divestment after an earlier sales process failed to meet expectations. Coca-Cola acquired the British coffeehouse chain in 2018 for about $5.1 billion (£3.9 billion) to expand its presence in the global coffee market.
An earlier auction was halted around December 2025 after bids, including offers from private equity firms TDR Capital and Bain Capital, were considered too low. The renewed effort suggests ongoing challenges integrating and growing the brand, whose performance has not matched Coca-Cola’s initial investment goals.
