Klarna has launched Consumer FX, a feature that lets customers buy from participating Klarna merchants worldwide and pay in their own currency without exchange fees. The service is available across 26 countries. Customers can see the price and exchange rate upfront, and that information remains visible in the app after purchase.
Klarna says the launch targets growth in cross-border e-commerce. Its data shows that 70% of shoppers now buy internationally.
Merchants can use Consumer FX without new integrations. The feature lets them reach customers globally without setting up local entities or foreign bank accounts. Klarna handles foreign exchange disclosures and compliance.
Early results show participating merchants saw a 5% increase in conversion rates. Overall sales rose 6%.
