KKR has agreed to sell Infinity Transportation, a full-service railcar leasing company, to funds managed by Ares Management Corporation. The deal values Infinity at approximately $2.9 billion on an enterprise-value basis. The parties expect to finalize the transaction in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
Infinity owns and manages a fleet of about 50,000 railcars. It leases them to more than 350 customers across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
KKR, through its subsidiary Global Atlantic, first invested in Infinity in 2016 and supported its growth into a standalone operating platform. Infinity’s book value has increased by 150% since 2021. Ares plans to support further fleet growth and pursue new acquisition opportunities.
