KKR has agreed to sell railcar leasing company Infinity Transportation to Ares Management for an enterprise value of approximately $2.9 billion. Funds managed by Ares Infrastructure Equity and Ares Insurance Solutions are making the acquisition. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.

Infinity owns and manages roughly 50,000 railcars leased to customers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. KKR subsidiary Global Atlantic first invested in Infinity in 2016. During its ownership, KKR helped build Infinity into a standalone platform and increase its book value by 150%.
