KBR has been awarded a contract by SABIC Agri-Nutrients for a new ammonia plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The facility is designed to produce 3,500 metric tons of ammonia per day, with annual output of 1.2 million metric tons.
KBR will provide the technology license, basic engineering design and proprietary equipment. The project is one of the largest ammonia plants licensed in Saudi Arabia and marks KBR’s second major single-train ammonia award in 2026. KBR will work with EPC contractor Samsung E&A.
The plant will use KBR’s Purifier technology, which is expected to reduce carbon intensity per ton of ammonia compared with conventional designs.
