Joby Aviation partnered with Atoms, an industrial AI and infrastructure firm founded by former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick. The collaboration will develop a nationwide network of vertiports for electric air taxi operations.
Atoms will manage site acquisition and infrastructure development for aircraft takeoff, landing, and charging. Initial projects will focus on key markets in Florida, New York, Texas, and California.
The partnership plans to create multimodal hubs that integrate electric aircraft with autonomous ground vehicles and ridesharing services. These facilities will support Joby’s planned early commercial operations.
