Johnson & Johnson received marketing authorization from the European Commission for ICOTYDE (icotrokinra). ICOTYDE treats adults and adolescents with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. The European Commission granted approval on September 21, 2026. ICOTYDE is the first targeted oral peptide available in Europe for this condition. It precisely blocks the IL-23 receptor.

The Phase 3 ICONIC clinical program underpins this decision. The program included over 2,500 patients. It demonstrated ICOTYDE's efficacy and favorable safety profile. ICOTYDE is a once-daily pill. It offers a convenient alternative to injectable biologics. Injectable biologics previously dominated the IL-23 treatment class.

This European authorization follows U.S. FDA approval in March 2026. The drug strengthens J&J's immunology pipeline.
