Johnson & Johnson reported long-term results for CARVYKTI® (ciltacabtagene autoleucel) from the Phase 2 CARTITUDE-2 study. The findings showed that a single infusion was followed by durable, treatment-free remission in some patients with early-line relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
The study followed 20 patients who had received one to three prior lines of therapy. Median follow-up was 60.7 months. At that point, 50% of patients remained alive and progression-free without maintenance therapy.
Presented at the International Myeloma Society Annual Meeting, the results reinforce the potential for durable remissions when CARVYKTI is used earlier in the disease course. They also suggest the treatment may have curative potential for some patients.
